Job description

Lead Test and Assembly Technician

We are looking for a Lead Test and Assembly Technician to join our Christchurch site!

You will be following process instructions, drawings, test and repair schedules to assemble, test, and repair products and customer returns, ensuring compliance with the quality management system and meeting company and customer requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assembling components to a final configured product using process and drawing instructions, blueprints, specialized tooling, fixtures, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
  2. Repairing and testing products using test procedures, drawings, tooling, fixtures, measuring equipment, and hand tools; incorporating ECN as required.
  3. Evaluating customer returns to determine repair actions required to satisfy customer requirements and product standards.
  4. Fault finding to sub-assembly or component level using drawings and test equipment.
  5. Performing staged inspections to verify accuracy and final inspection before delivery, including signing release paperwork.
  6. Providing training and support to team members.
  7. Complying with all health and safety requirements.
  8. Performing routine routines, maintenance, and seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
  9. Supporting problem solving in small groups.

What You Bring:

  1. Qualification to ONC Electronic Engineering or equivalent, or a relevant apprenticeship.
  2. At least 4 years of relevant experience in electronic/pneumatics engineering and electrical/mechanical assembly.
  3. Knowledge of MRP systems, production control, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  4. Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite.
