Job summary

STRABAG UK is seeking a qualified Temporary Works Coordinator to oversee the company’s temporary works control procedure in line with BS5975 across self-delivery and subcontractor works. You will coordinate design packages, inspect and track documentation, and ensure safe lifecycle management of temporary works on site.

You will liaise with internal teams, external designers and subcontractors, provide buildability advice, and maintain robust document control and project reporting to support

Qualifications

• CSCS Card is required for site access.
• CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Training completed or in progress.
• Experience in Civil Engineering sector or similar.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Experience on fast-moving projects with multiple interfaces.
• Strong health & safety knowledge relevant to design and site activities.
• Effective communication with stakeholders at different levels.
• Experience in Temporary Works Coordination and/or temporary works design (desirable).
• Knowledge of BS5975 and CDM2015 principles (desirable).
• CEng/MICE or CEng IStructE membership desirable.
• SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee temporary works control procedures in line with BS5975 within designated areas of responsibility for self-delivery and subcontractor works.
• Coordinate timely delivery of temporary works design packages with in-house teams and external designers/suppliers.
• Oversee inspections, permits, hold points, and compliance with temporary works requirements through design, erection, use and dismantling.
• Act as central point of contact between internal teams, external designers, and subcontractors for design deliverables and construction requirements.
• Provide buildability advice, support technical queries, and contribute to meetings for timely and safe delivery of temporary works.
• Maintain accurate temporary works records and manage the temporary works register with all required documentation.
• Monitor and verify that critical design elements, interfaces, and assurance requirements address regulatory standards.
• Track, manage, and report on the status of temporary works designs focusing on programme, budget, risks, and milestones.
• Manage and maintain robust document control processes for design and construction records.
• Ensure design submissions are uploaded to document management systems and issued to reviewing parties.
• Promote use of project systems (e.g., ProjectWise, AssetWise) in line with procedures.
• Coordinate with Permanent Works Design Management to ensure alignment with permanent works requirements.

Tasks

• Oversee the implementation of the company’s temporary works control procedure in line with BS5975 inthe respective areas of responsibility for both self-delivery and subcontractor delivered works.
• Coordinate the timely delivery of temporary works design packages in line with the project programme, workingwith both in-house teams and external designers/ suppliers.
• Oversee inspections, permits, hold points, and compliance with temporary works requirements throughoutdesign, erection, use and dismantling, ensuring the temporary works are safe during all stages of their lifecycle.
• Act as the central point of contact between internal teams, external designers, and subcontractors toensure effective communication and alignment on design deliverables and construction requirements.
• Provide buildability advice, support technical queries, and contribute to meetings to ensure timely andsafe delivery of temporary works requirements.
• Maintain accurate temporary works records, manage the temporary works register and ensure all requireddocumentation are in place and accurately reflect the relevant requirements.
• Monitor and verify that critical design elements — including technical interfaces, assurance requirements,and compliance — are properly addressed in accordance with project and regulatory standards.
• Track, manage, and report on the status of temporary works designs, with a strong focus on programme andbudget performance, risks, and key milestones.
• Manage and maintain robust document control processes, ensuring design and construction documentationis correctly recorded, tracked, and distributed in line with the project’s requirements.
• Ensure design submissions are uploaded to the relevant document management systems and issued to theappropriate reviewing parties.
• Promote and ensure effective use of project systems (e.g. ProjectWise, AssetWise, and other documentcontrol platforms) in line with company procedures.
• Liaise with the Permanent Works Design Management team as required to ensure temporary works beingproposed and develop are coordinated with permanent works requirements and limitations.

Qualifications

• Skills card - CSCS Card.
• CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Training.
• Previous experience as working in the Civil Engineering sector.
• Strong proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience on a fast-moving project, multiple interfaces and working within a technical delivery team.
• Strong health & safety knowledge and approach relating to design and site activities.
• Strong communication skills, being able to effectively communicate with Stakeholders at different levels.
• Previous experience in Temporary Works Coordination and/or temporary works design or Civil/Structural design (desired, not required).
• Knowledge on BS5975 and CDM2015 principles (desired, not required).
• Membership of relevant professional body - CEng MICE or CEng IStructE (desired, not required).
• SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification (desired, not required).
