Job summary

Manpower is seeking an experienced Telecoms Engineering Lead in Reading to provide technical leadership on a major project, overseeing design, assurance, and delivery of telecoms systems from concept to handover.

You will set project standards, guide engineering teams and contractors, and ensure telecoms solutions meet performance, security and regulatory requirements. Flexible, hybrid working available.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in telecommunications engineering within large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of fibre optic and wireless systems.
• Experience developing technical specifications, standards, and scopes of work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assurance of telecoms system design and engineering activities across all project phases.
• Develop and maintain project telecoms standards aligned with regulatory and cybersecurity requirements.
• Optimise standards and concepts for scalable, cost-effective solutions.
• Provide technical oversight for contractor-led telecoms design and engineering activities.
• Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor selections.
• Ensure QA measures across design, procurement and delivery stages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive value and resolve issues.
