Job summary

SP Energy Networks is hiring a Senior Field Engineer (Telecoms) to lead delivery of operational telecom infrastructure projects from Prenton. The role focuses on IP networking (LAN/WAN/Firewall), MPLS-IP, MPLS-TP, PDH/SDH, and IP telephony, with strong project management and vendor coordination.

You will manage adds/moves/changes, coordinate with E&D and D&S teams, forecast budgets (CAPEX/OPEX) and ensure on-time delivery, while maintaining HSSEQ standards.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in Project Management and IP networking technologies (LAN/WAN/Firewall).
• Experience with MPLS-IP, MPLS-TP, PDH/SDH, IP telephony and network synchronisation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, effective delivery of telecom projects and activities, reviewing site safety and contractor practices.
• Review and approve CHG requests, validate network records, and ensure end-of-job documentation aligns with scope.
• Forecast budgets, manage CAPEX/OPEX, and coordinate field resources to deliver on time and within budget.
