Job summary

Siemens Software in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Technical Author to join the Rapidminer SLC documentation team. You will research, write, and maintain developer and administration documentation, working with engineers, QA, and support across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or international graduate) in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Technical Communication.
• At least 5 years of experience in technical communication, instructional design, engineering, or related field.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to gather information via interviewing engineers and examining source code.
• Ability to explain degree-level mathematical and statistical concepts clearly.
• Experience creating tutorials or training materials.
• Exposure to programming principles or programming knowledge.
• Ability to produce documentation without AI-generated content.
• Experience on long-duration, complex technical projects.
• Familiarity with distributed or international teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and generate content for data analytics products, collaborating with engineering SMEs.
• Research, write, and maintain developer and administration documentation for Rapidminer SLC products.
• Produce high-quality original technical documentation on statistical, mathematical, and programmatic concepts.
• Contribute to end-user documentation for other Rapidminer products.
• Review and copy-edit SME documentation for consistency.
• Work with developers, customer support and QA to update docs per feedback and new features.
• Interpret syntax from developers to derive accurate behavior.
• Collaborate with global team members to meet deadlines.
• Execute long-term documentation projects requiring sustained analysis and writing.
