Job summary

IMSERV, one of the UK’s leading energy data and metering specialists, is seeking a Senior Architect to own the Astral platform architecture and data foundation. You will govern APIs, entitlement, and the orchestration layer, steering the transition from single-tenant to multi-tenant architecture.

You will collaborate with the Head of Development to shape the technical roadmap and oversee build-versus-buy choices.

Qualifications

Significant experience as a technical or solutions architect on customer-facing SaaS platforms.
Direct experience of multi-tenant SaaS architecture, ideally including a single-tenant to multi-tenant migration.
Engineering background in C#/.NET, Angular and Azure.

Responsibilities

Keep the current and target architecture documented and understood across the department.
Review and approve significant technical decisions: patterns, technology choices, integration approaches and third-party services.
Define the API strategy: portal, analytics and data-feed APIs treated as products with entitlement enforced.
Design the multi-utility data architecture across metering, consumption, carbon, asset and CRM data flows.
Design the rules and orchestration layer: event backbone, orchestration engine, decision tables, and read models served via APIs.
Design the AI layer: retrieval over the data foundation, guardrails, and model/service selection.
Lead build-versus-buy evaluations on total cost, time to value and lock-in risk.
