Job summary

Coventry City Council is recruiting an experienced Team Manager Children in Care Home Finding & Brokerage to lead a high-impact service focused on improving outcomes for children and young people in our care.

You will oversee the Home Finding team, drive care planning, commissioning, and market management across residential care, fostering and supported accommodation, ensuring safe, high-quality placements and effective use of resources.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance and regulatory frameworks relating to children in care.
• Strong experience of care planning, home finding, commissioning and sufficiency within children’s services.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate professional teams delivering complex services.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience of managing budgets, placement spend and value for money.
• A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and a child focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Children in Care Home Finding team to deliver high-quality placements.
• Drive market management, sufficiency planning and quality improvement across homes including residential care, fostering and supported accommodation.
• Contribute at a senior level to strategy development, financial governance and quality assurance using data to drive improvement.
• Collaborate with commissioning, operational children’s services, providers and partners to ensure safe, effective and value-for-money outcomes.
