Job summary

Coventry City Council is recruiting for a senior residential leadership role within children’s services. The post involves providing a positive, relationship-based culture, supporting the Registered Manager and driving service development across the residential care provision.

Ideal candidates will bring strong staff management skills, a Diploma in Residential Childcare, and a commitment to continued professional development, including the Level 5 Leadership qualification.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 3 or 4) required.
• Willingness to complete Diploma in Leadership and Management (Level 5).
• Experience in Ofsted-regulated children's residential settings.

Responsibilities

• Role model: cultivate relationship-based practice to improve outcomes for children.
• Leader: support and deputise for the Registered Manager and uphold values.
• Organiser: lead project development, ensure compliance and manage budget.
• Skilled Practitioner: facilitate admissions, protect children and liaise with agencies.
