Job summary

Royal Wootton Bassett Academy is seeking a proactive Lead Teaching Assistant (Functional) to lead Foundational Skills across KS3–KS5. You will coordinate literacy, numeracy, and study skills interventions, ensuring timely support for pupils who need extra help and helping them access learning effectively.

You will work with the SEND team, pastoral staff, families and external partners to foster resilience and positive outcomes, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and high-quality delivery

Qualifications

• Lead Foundational Skills across Key Stages 3–5 with focus on literacy, numeracy, communication, learning readiness and study skills.
• Identify students who require additional support early and provide high-quality intervention.
• Collaborate with SEND team, pastoral staff, families and external agencies to enable access to learning.
• Support emotional resilience and positive outcomes through effective support delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate foundational skills delivery across KS3–KS5.

• Deliver high-quality intervention plans and monitor progress.
