KPI Recruiting Ltd is recruiting for a Lead Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in the L18 area of Liverpool. This role involves closely supporting pupils across the primary setting and leading learning activities when required.

We are seeking a graduate with experience with children who is positive, reliable and adaptable, able to build strong relationships with pupils and contribute to behaviour and engagement. Interviews in September.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant subject would be highly desirable.
  • Experience in a primary school or SEN setting, childcare, education, social care, youth work or tutoring environment would be beneficial.
  • Competent in supporting pupils with different needs and ages.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small-group learning and intervention sessions.
  • Provide 1:1 support where required.
  • Support pupils with SEN and additional needs.
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities
  • Take responsibility for groups of pupils when required

Lead Teaching Assistant - Primary school

L18, Liverpool | £500-£530 per week | September interviews

Are you a graduate with experience working with children and ready to take on more responsibility within a primary school?

We are recruiting for a Lead Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in the L18 area of Liverpool. This role would suit someone who is confident working with children, can take the lead when needed and wants to play a bigger part in supporting pupils and the wider classroom team.

The school is looking for someone who is positive, reliable and adaptable, with the confidence to work with children of different ages, abilities and needs.

The role

You will work closely with teachers and school staff to support pupils across the primary setting, while taking responsibility for leading support and learning activities when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading small-group learning and intervention sessions
  • Providing 1:1 support where required
  • Supporting pupils with SEN and additional needs
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities
  • Taking responsibility for groups of pupils when required
  • Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
  • Building strong relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging children's confidence and independence
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider school team
  • Adapting your approach to suit different ages, abilities and needs
About you

We're looking for someone who has a genuine interest in education and supporting children's development.

A degree in a relevant subject would be highly desirable, including:

  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Education
  • Childhood Studies
  • Childcare
  • Early Years
  • English
  • Maths
  • Science
  • STEM subjects
  • Other core or related subjects

Experience working within a primary school, SEN setting, childcare, education, social care, youth work or tutoring environment would be beneficial.

You should be:

  • Experienced as a Teaching Assistant, HLTA or in a similar support role
  • Confident working with primary-aged children
  • Comfortable leading groups and activities
  • Patient, approachable and consistent
  • Able to manage situations calmly and confidently
  • A strong communicator
  • Flexible and able to adapt to different pupils
  • Comfortable taking responsibility and working independently
  • Passionate about helping children learn and develop

Experience supporting SEN, behaviour, pastoral needs or additional learning needs would be particularly beneficial.

The opportunity

This role would suit an experienced TA or graduate who is ready to take on a lead-level position and become an important member of the school's support team.

£500-£530 per week, dependent on experience
