Job summary

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture is seeking Lead Swim Teachers for Hamilton venues to deliver high quality lessons across ages and abilities. The role requires SSTQ or SQA Level 7 and PVG clearance, with induction before starting.

You will plan, deliver and review sessions, ensuring safety and progression while maintaining a positive learning environment. Fixed term to 31 March 2027 with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a Scottish Swim Teacher Qualification (SSTQ) or SQA Level 7 qualification.
• Successful candidates will need PVG scheme registration and complete induction before starting paid work.

Responsibilities

• Set up / take down equipment as required.
• Provide regular, relevant communication with customers/participants and colleagues; supply management with performance data.
• Plan each session or block to match group level and activity goals.
• Prepare for and deliver sessions following Health and Safety guidelines and risk assessments.
• Deliver fun, structured coaching conforming to National Governing Body guidelines.
• Assist Swim Development management with staff development and programme delivery.
