Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001 standards, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves up to 50% UK-wide travel and offers flexible working arrangements.

What you’ll do:
  • Provide specialist guidance and advice to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Support risk management by establishing environmental assurance regimes, including audit programs, and ensuring effective practices through inspections and audits.
  • Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
  • Support the development and maintenance of performance data and the production of carbon management reports for various stakeholders.
  • Ensure regular reviews of key environmental aspects and impacts within Business Units, including climate change risk assessments.
  • Work with Bid, Design, and Operational Teams to embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout project lifecycles.
Who you are:

You will have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within relevant industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum Qualification - PIEMA
  • ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
  • Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
  • Proven track record of reducing environmental impacts of equipment and infrastructure across product lifecycle stages
  • Experience managing complex technical projects and implementing change/improvement initiatives
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel UK-wide
