The Green Recruitment Company seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of a 132kV substation construction project in the UK. You will oversee cost control, financial reporting, subcontractor management and contract administration to ensure delivery within budget.

Candidates should hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, with proven civil engineering or infrastructure experience, ideally in substations or high‑voltage projects.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Proven experience in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in substations, high-voltage infrastructure or power transmission and distribution is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts, cost control, variations and subcontractor management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and bills of quantities.
• Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial management software.
• Full right to work in the UK.

Responsabilités

• Manage project budgets, cost plans, forecasts and cash flow.
• Monitor expenditure and identify commercial risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare cost estimates, quantity take-offs, valuations and commercial reports.
• Administer construction contracts, including NEC4 where applicable.
• Manage variations, compensation events, claims and final accounts.
• Review subcontractor quotations, payment applications and commercial agreements.
• Work with project managers and engineers to assess progress and validate completed works.
• Manage commercial aspects of civil and electrical packages, including foundations, cable trenches, transformers, switchgear and associated infrastructure.
