Job summary

Turner Lovell Limited in the UK is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations up to 400kV, from concept through to construction, coordinating with electrical and structural disciplines.

You will attend site visits and client meetings, manage design risks, mentor junior staff, and ensure designs meet safety and quality standards while staying within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of industry experience in power transmission/substations or related infrastructure.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and MS Office; Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) across the UK.
• Attend site visits, client meetings and design reviews to monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet technical, safety and quality requirements within time and budget constraints.
• Manage design risks and develop practical engineering solutions during development and delivery.
• Oversee design reviews and ensure integration with electrical and structural disciplines.
• Guide and support junior team members.
