Job summary

BRE Group in Watford-based offices seeks a Lead Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership for structural engineering activities within BRE’s Structural team, delivering high-quality engineering, testing and assurance services that support growth and industry impact.

The role leads a complex function, oversees project delivery against BS/EN standards, coordinates engineers and laboratory staff, and contributes to business development and client engagement as a technical authority on

Qualifications

Chartered Structural Engineer with strong technical authority in structural engineering and testing.
Proven capability to lead and manage complex structural engineering activities and technical services.
Strong knowledge of BS and EN codes and standards and their application to design and testing.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians and laboratory staff.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a complex structural engineering function delivering a complete technical service.
Oversee project delivery ensuring technical quality and compliance with BS/EN standards.
Develop and interpret test regimes based on structural design principles (static/dynamic).
Manage laboratory activities to ensure safe, reliable testing outcomes.
Coordinate engineers, technicians and laboratory staff for cohesive delivery.
Contribute to business development, client engagement and industry representation.
Act as technical authority on complex client inquiries and proposals.
