Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Leeds to take the reins on a mix of building and infrastructure projects. You’ll own projects from concept through to construction, running programmes, managing stakeholders and setting technical standards for the team.

You’ll lead design and delivery, coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs, mentor junior engineers and contribute to fee proposals, with a clear progression path within a growing consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered (MIStructE or MICE) preferred; near‑Chartered also considered.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong experience within a UK structural consultancy.
• Solid technical capability across all main materials, with proven delivery from concept to site.
• Working knowledge of Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds or similar.
• Experience managing multiple projects, budgets and client expectations.
• Confident leading and mentoring engineers and reviewing others’ designs.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to make clear, independent technical decisions.
• Strong communicator who stays calm under pressure and works well in multi‑disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and delivery, ensuring quality, programme and commercial outcomes.
• Be the key client contact among contractors and project partners.
• Carry out and review structural analysis and design in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Produce and check reports, specifications, calculations and drawings.
• Mentor junior engineers and allocate workloads.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs and manage project teams.
• Contribute to fee proposals and client development.
