Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of structural solutions for major energy infrastructure projects in the UK. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, innovative outcomes.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage project delivery, and contribute to business development while upholding UK design codes and standards. Hybrid working and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership.
• Proven experience in structural engineering design and delivery.
• Experience with substations, transmission and distribution infrastructure, OHL projects, power stations, and petrochemical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering design on major energy infrastructure projects.
• Deliver structural solutions for substations, transmission and distribution facilities, OHL structures, and power stations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and WSP’s quality processes.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project needs and provide expert guidance.
• Contribute to business development and proposal writing.
• Support the development of best practices and innovation within the team.
