Job summary

Industry leading consultancy in Hemel Hempstead seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to own structural and civil design, lead projects from concept through construction, and act as the main client contact. You will mentor junior engineers, oversee QA, and contribute to fees, programme and business growth.

The ideal candidate will have Chartered Engineer status or be working toward it, a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, and strong client-facing communication. UK right-to-work is required.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (ICE or IStructE) or working toward.
• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong track record in project delivery and technical leadership.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, TEDDS, and MS Office.
• Right to work in the UK (driving licence advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Structural/Civil Engineering designs across all project stages.
• Manage projects, programmes, fees, and budgets.
• Mentor and supervise graduate and junior engineers.
• Act as lead C&S consultant and primary client contact.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications, and fee bids.
• Ensure QA, H&S, and company standards are met.
• Contribute to business development and client retention.
