Job summary

Active Neuro, part of Active Care Group, is hiring a Lead Speech and Language Therapist in Birmingham. The role focuses on developing a seven-day service, leading the SLT team, and embedding evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.

You will oversee complex neurorehabilitation cases, supervise junior SLTs and assistants, and lead service development with strong leadership and a commitment to excellence. A welcome bonus applies on joining and progressing through probation.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Experience in neurorehabilitation and dysphagia assessment/management.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior SLTs and assistants.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly specialist SLT assessment and intervention for clients with neurological injuries or illnesses.
• Lead on development and delivery of evidence-based therapy programmes with the MDT.
• Independently plan, deliver and evaluate communication therapy groups, patient-centred care.
• Uphold high standards of clinical care reflecting national guidance.
• Serve as Key Worker for integrated goal-setting and discharge planning.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior SLTs and assistants.
• Contribute to induction, education and training of interdisciplinary team members.
• Ensure compliance with professional codes and governance frameworks.
• Support service development, policy implementation and quality improvement initiatives.
• Safeguard clients and uphold human rights within practice.
