Job summary

Active Care Group’s Active Neuro is recruiting a senior speech and language therapist to join Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, a neurorehabilitation service for adults. The post centres on specialist assessment and treatment, and on leading evidence-based therapy and service development within a multidisciplinary team.

You will supervise less experienced SLTs, coordinate goal-setting and discharge planning, and contribute to service development while upholding HCPC standards.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a speech and language therapist.
• Experience in neurorehabilitation setting.
• Specialist-level dysphagia competency per RCSLT framework.
• Formal supervision or line management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist SLT assessment and treatment for clients with complex neurological needs.
• Devise and implement evidence-led therapy programmes at specialist level, working with a multidisciplinary team.
• Independently plan and lead communication therapy groups.
• Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance.
• Act as key worker for goal-setting, therapy coordination and discharge planning.
• Formally supervise less experienced SLTs and assistants in line with policy.
• Contribute to induction and training of interdisciplinary team members.
• Ensure codes of practice, regulations and HCPC registration requirements are upheld.
• Contribute to implementing and reviewing SLT policy and service development initiatives.

The post centres on specialist assessment and treatment of adults with complex neurological needs, and on leading evidence-based therapy and service development. It is a senior clinical role within a multidisciplinary team, combining case work, running communication groups and formally supervising less experienced SLTs and assistants. Applicants must be HCPC-registered and have prior neurorehabilitation experience.

What the job involves

• Provide specialist SLT assessment and treatment for clients with complex neurological needs
