Active Care Group’s Active Neuro service at Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is seeking an experienced Lead Speech and Language Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team. You will provide specialist SLT assessment and treatment for adults with complex neurological needs and lead therapy initiatives in a seven-day model of care.

HCPC registration, neurorehabilitation experience, and specialist dysphagia competency are essential.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
• Neurorehabilitation experience.
• Specialist-level dysphagia competency according to the RCSLT framework.
• Formal supervision/line management experience.
• Strong communication, leadership, and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist SLT assessment and treatment for clients with complex neurological needs.
• Devise and implement evidence-led therapy programmes at a specialist level, emphasising multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Independently plan and lead communication therapy groups.
• Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance.
• Undertake key worker duties, ensuring cohesive goal-setting, therapy coordination, and discharge planning.
• Formally supervise less experienced SLTs and assistants in line with ACG policy.
• Take an active role in the induction and training of other members of the interdisciplinary team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist SLT to deliver expert care to adults with neurological conditions resulting from injury, illness or disease, supporting clients with physical, cognitive and communication difficulties in a well-established neurorehabilitation service. As a result, occasional pre-arranged weekend working will be required.
