Job summary

Active Care Group’s Active Neuro division seeks a Lead Occupational Therapist at Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Kent. You will lead an OT team, drive innovation, and embed advanced rehabilitation technologies within a 7‑day, 24/7 therapy model.

HCPC registration and strong neurorehabilitation leadership are essential; weekend work and enhanced DBS are part of the role.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Significant post-registration experience in neurorehabilitation or complex care (including ABI/TBI).
• Experience leading or supervising therapy teams.
• Ability to champion advanced rehabilitation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and clinical leadership to the OT team.
• Deliver expert assessment and intervention for complex neurological needs.
• Shape service development, clinical pathways, and quality initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor OT staff.
• Collaborate with MDT to ensure person-centred care.
• Promote use of advanced rehabilitation technologies.
• Ensure safety and uphold human rights.

Every person receives a personalised rehabilitation programme, with our expert multidisciplinary team working together to deliver coordinated, evidence-based care.Alongside specialist physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, speech and language therapy and nursing, we utilise advanced rehabilitation technologies, including robotic upper limb therapy and EMG biofeedback, to maximise recovery, improve function and help people achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes.The role:As part of our transition to Active Neuro, the therapy service is evolving into a seven-day model of care to better support the rehabilitation needs of our clients. As a result, occasional pre-arranged weekend working will be required. You will also be expected to work Bank Holidays as required by the service, with enhanced pay provided in line with company policy.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic and clinical leadership to the Occupational Therapy team.Deliver expert, evidence-based assessment and intervention for individuals with complex neurological needs.Take a key role in shaping service development, clinical pathways, and quality improvement initiatives.Support the professional development of the OT team through supervision, training, and mentorship.Work collaboratively within the MDT to ensure a consistent, person-centred, and outcome-driven rehabilitation journey.Champion the use of advanced rehabilitation technologies as part of our 24-hour therapy model.Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights.About you:For this role, you'll need:HCPC registration as an Occupational TherapistSignificant post-registration experience in neurorehabilitation or complex care (including ABI/TBI)Demonstrable leadership ability and experience of managing or supervising therapy teamsAdvanced clinical reasoning and confident decision-making in complex neurorehabilitation casesA passion for service development, innovation, and delivering measurable patient outcomesSuccessful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBSWe want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions.
