Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is seeking a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join the Emergency Department team at Queen's Medical Centre. This Band 8a role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a strong focus on medicines optimisation and clinical prescribing in a busy trauma centre.

You will lead the ED pharmacy service, mentor junior pharmacists and technicians, work with MDT colleagues, and contribute to education, audits and service development within the Emergency and Acute Care

Qualifications

Registered with GPhC (general registration)
Post-graduate diploma/MSc in clinical pharmacy or working towards this or equivalent experience
B.Pharm/BSc (Pharmacy) or MPharm
Active role in a relevant national network / specialist pharmacist group
Experience delivering clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting
Experience in supervision and training of trainee pharmacists/technicians
Experience in audit/research projects and disseminating findings

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the ED pharmacy service alongside other Specialist Clinical Pharmacists
Provide specialist input to the Emergency Department
Collaborate with medical teams to prescribe for ED patients
Offer complex prescribing guidance aligned with guidelines
Maintain knowledge of prescribing/therapeutics for Medicine care group
Be a key MDT member in the ED
Line manage junior pharmacists and Medicines Management Technicians
Participate in on-call rota and education/training activities
