Job summary

Aviemore-area bar and restaurant is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. This hands-on leadership role supports the Head Chef and drives high-volume service with a focus on quality, consistency, and presentation.

You'll take a key role in staff development, hygiene compliance, and kitchen efficiency, contributing to a stable, growing business and clear progression opportunities within the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up.
• Strong knowledge of fresh food and high-volume service.
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Lead kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
• Train, supervise, and motivate junior members of the kitchen team
