Job summary

Campus Services is seeking a Sous Chef to join our busy Campus Services catering team in a permanent, full-time role. You will work alongside the Head Chef, lead a team, and produce high-quality food for a busy campus operation, including events.

The role is 36.5 hours per week, five days out of seven, with some evenings and weekends required. You will hold a Level 3 qualification, have strong knowledge of Food Safety/HACCP, and demonstrate leadership under pressure while delivering consistently

Qualifications

• You will have a Level 3 qualification and good knowledge of Food Safety/HACCP.
• Experienced in leading a team in high-volume catering.
• Strong kitchen management and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the kitchen in the head chef's absence.
• Lead, support and develop a team of chefs and catering colleagues.
• Produce quality food in a busy, high-volume environment, including functions and events.
• Support menu development, promotions and new food initiatives.
• Manage stock, food costs, rotas and food safety standards.
• Help drive excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
