Job summary

MBDA UK Ltd in Stevenage seeks a Software Security Engineer to oversee security across the product development lifecycle, from concept through in-service support. The role is hybrid, requiring 3–5 days on-site per week, with a strong emphasis on secure coding practices and collaboration with software teams.

You will evaluate technologies, conduct risk analyses, and contribute to security strategy while supporting BPSS/DV clearance processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in software security with knowledge of industry security standards and best practices.
• Experience guiding security across software development lifecycles.
• Strong collaboration and technical leadership in cross-functional teams.
• Interest in novel and emerging technologies within the security domain.
• Experience with embedded software is a plus but not required.
• Degree or equivalent in a STEM field.

Responsibilities

• Guide security aspects of product development across the lifecycle from concept to in-service support.
• Provide technical security guidance to software development and project teams on requirements and best practices.
• Participate in evaluating technologies and frameworks for software projects.
• Conduct security assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
• Support process improvement and adoption of secure development methodologies and tools.
• Maintain documentation and generate security reports and metrics.
