Formula. in London is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to own the technical direction of customer identity management. The role is hybrid, with 2 days a week on-site in London, and offers a salary “up to £110,000”.

You will lead third-party delivery partners who perform most build work while maintaining technical ownership. You will review code across frontend, backend, cloud and CI/CD, ensuring security and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Full-stack engineering background across the full SDLC.
• Experience with React on the front end.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms and CI/CD/DevOps pipelines.
• Proven ability to manage or oversee third-party engineering vendors/partners.
• Identity and access management experience is a nice-to-have.
• Strong technical judgement and ability to challenge delivery partners on design and implementation decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction and architecture decisions for the customer identity platform.
• Manage and hold third‑party engineering partners delivering day‑to‑day build.
• Stay hands‑on across the stack and review code across front end, back end, cloud, and CI/CD.
• Act as the technical guardian of the codebase, ensuring security and architectural standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise initiatives and align technical delivery with business goals.
• Report on platform performance, delivery progress, and technical risk.
