Job summary

HWM Global in Wales is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the Hardware Lifecycle software strategy and product ownership across three core products: installation and deployment app, fleet monitoring (Rails), and customer fleet admin (C#/.NET and React).

You will lead a small team, spend up to 40% of time coding, and collaborate with Product Management to shape roadmaps while delivering high-quality software across Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a software team and delivering product roadmaps.
• Strong architectural sense and ability to articulate trade-offs.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Hardware Lifecycle software team and improve processes.
• Own technical direction and architecture for the team’s software.
• Act as product owner, shaping backlog with Product Management and customers.
• Manage legacy apps and plan rationalisation and maintenance.
• Design, develop and maintain software across tech stack (C# .NET, React, Xamarin/.NET MAUI, Ruby on Rails, Azure, Linux, Git).
• Support move to platform-agnostic approach including Linux.
