Job summary

Halma is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Hardware Lifecycle in a hybrid role based in Cwmbran, Wales. You will lead three core products: an installation/deployment app, a fleet monitoring Rails-based cloud app, and a customer fleet admin app built with C# .NET and React.

You will own the product direction, work with Product Management and the Head of Digital Delivery, and guide a small team of three direct reports while spending up to 40% of time coding.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing and delivering software across multiple stacks.
• Proven leadership of a software team through modernization or re-platforming.
• Strong product ownership and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Hardware Lifecycle software team, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
• Own technical direction and architecture, communicating trade-offs clearly.
• Act as product owner, shaping backlog with Product Management and customers.
• Manage legacy apps through end-of-support, minimizing changes.
• Design and maintain high-quality software across C# .NET, React, Xamarin/MAUI, Rails, Azure, Git.
• Support move to platform-agnostic environments, including Linux.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and debt.
• Provide responsive support for urgent user issues.
