Job summary

Manchester Digital is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Wigan to own end-to-end systems from design to production. You will lead a small cross-functional team, delivering features in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

You will help modernise microservices, improve observability, and enhance testability using modern architectural approaches. Hybrid working with two days in the office is available.

Lead Software Engineer (£80k + benefits)

Great opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer to join a SaaS company in Wigan as they go through a period of growth.

You’d join a small cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment where you’d be given the opportunity to own all aspects of the systems you work on, from design through to deployment and supporting them in production.

As a Lead Software Engineer you’d play a key role in system design, helping to modernise their existing microservices and improve observability and testability by using modern approaches like hexagonal architecture and agentic behaviour driven design.
