Job summary

Agilis Recruitment is partnering with an innovative global technology organisation to hire a Lead Software Engineer specializing in C#/.NET. Located in Cheltenham Spa with remote options, you will shape the next generation of the core platform and build scalable backend services on AWS and PostgreSQL.

You will mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and influence delivery estimates while embracing AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• Commercial Software Engineering experience with C#/.NET.
• Senior/Lead engineer with technical leadership experience.
• Experience building backend services and REST APIs.
• Understanding of event-driven/asynchronous/service-based architectures.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with automated testing, source control and code reviews.
• Ability to work from technical documentation and requirements.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Technical lead, mentoring other engineers and conducting code reviews.
• Build and maintain production software using C# and .NET.
• Develop backend services, APIs and event-driven applications.
• Work with PostgreSQL and AWS cloud technologies.
• Contribute to microservices, integrations and distributed systems.
• Support UI development using Blazor where required.
• Write automated tests and participate in peer code reviews.
• Troubleshoot issues and support production systems.
• Translate requirements into technical tasks and contribute to delivery estimates.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools as part of the process.

You’ll be working on modern, scalable software across C#/.NET, AWS, APIs, event-driven architecture and distributed systems, with genuine scope to influence how the platform evolves. The business is also embracing AI-assisted engineering, giving developers access to modern tools and approaches to build better software, faster.

Responsibilities
