Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking a Senior Practitioner for Children in Care to lead complex cases and mentor social workers within a dynamic team. The role emphasizes improving professional practice, coordination of supervision, and safeguarding within legal frameworks.

You will work with children aged 0-18 under various care arrangements, manage a substantial caseload, and build strong partnerships with police, health, schools and voluntary agencies. Hybrid role based in Birmingham.

Formación

• Qualified social worker with current SW England registration.
• Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s social care.
• Experience with Children in Care and safeguarding complexities.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and national standards.
• Excellent assessment, analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to coach, mentor and support colleagues.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to outstanding outcomes for children and young people.

Responsabilidades

• Lead role in improving the quality of professional social work practice across the casework cycle.
• Provide a needs-led, professional service in line with legislation and best practice.
• Undertake complex casework within the children and family services.
• Share knowledge of legislation, guidance and procedures with the team.
• Be responsible for allocated complex caseloads and joined-up partnership working.
• Provide quality assurance and coaching/mentoring to colleagues.
