London North West Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist specializing in adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders. The role involves complex dysphagia management, aphasia and cognitive communication rehabilitation, and instrumental assessment within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have post-registration experience, HCPC registration, and a track record of staff supervision, clinical governance, and service improvement.

Qualifications

• Post-registration experience in adult acquired disorders, including stroke and complex dysphagia
• Assessment and rehabilitation of aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech and cognitive-communication disorder
• Instrumental swallowing assessment within competence
• Multidisciplinary working, discharge planning and risk management
• Supervision or teaching of staff/students
• Knowledge of current evidence, national stroke guidance, clinical governance, safeguarding, consent, capacity and equality duties
• Experience of tracheostomy and critical care-related assessment (Desirable)
• Experience of line management, audit or service improvement (Desirable)
• Advanced clinical reasoning, communication with impaired patients, prioritising demands, leadership, data analysis, autonomous working and digital literacy
