Job summary

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) to work across adult acute and stroke inpatient services at Northwick Park Hospital. The role is rotational, with exposure to multiple teams and senior clinical support for complex cases.

You will independently assess and manage adults with complex dysphagia and communication disorders, participate in discharge planning, supervision, and contribute to quality improvement and research

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy recognised by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
• Postgraduate training or supervised competency development in FEES and/or videofluoroscopy.
• Desirable: post-registration experience with adults with acquired swallowing and communication disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage adults with complex dysphagia and communication disorders in acute, stroke and inpatient settings.
• Caseload prioritisation and discharge planning with multidisciplinary teams.
• Supervision and support of junior staff and students; training and governance activities.
• Audit, service improvement and contribution to evidence-based care.
