Job summary

SSEN Transmission is recruiting a Lead Site Construction Manager for the Beauly Denny 400kV Upgrade project in Scotland. You will provide leadership to the Construction team on site, ensuring work is carried out safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

You will recruit, onboard and develop team members, monitor contractor performance, manage resources and construction techniques, and work with other Lead Construction Managers to raise standards and deliver the project in line

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally in transmission/utility sectors.
• Proven ability to lead construction teams on site with focus on safety, programme and quality.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and CDM regulations; construction risk assessment and management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on the overall construction performance of the portfolio.
• Recruit, onboarding and develop team members (Construction Site Managers/ Supervisors/ Trainee), to meet project needs.
• Provide leadership to ensure CDM compliance and monitor contractor performance; define responsibilities of Construction team members.
• Share expertise and assist project managers to identify resources, construction techniques and project risks.
• Collaborate with other Lead Construction Managers to improve standards and maintain work instructions for all activities.
