Job summary

Canopy Simulations Ltd. is seeking a driven software engineer to join a high-performance HPC environment focused on simulation and optimisation for cutting‑edge workloads.

The role covers mid to senior levels with ownership of projects, build systems, and mentor responsibilities. UK tax residency is required and visa sponsorship is not available at this stage. You will work with senior leadership and take an impact‑driven approach to performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in C++ with related languages considered
• Degree in CS, Engineering, Maths or related topic with formal software training
• Knowledge of distributed systems, HPC clusters, and hardware optimisations
• Experience in professional software development, including source control, code review, and pipelines/deployments

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and lead projects in our state-of-the‑art lap time simulation platform, improving performance, reliability, modularity, and testability
• Contribute to discussions, refinement, and review of customer requests and internal developments, bringing knowledge and experience of professional software development to our team of talented engineers
• Maintain and update our build systems and tooling to test and implement updates to our HPC infrastructure, including developing testing and benchmarking as part of CI/CD.
• Mentor and train junior employees in high level software engineering principles and low level optimisation and solver routines, building continuity and leaving a legacy on our team
• Develop and formalise our relationship with agentic coding tools, including the opportunity to build loops and processes using self-hosted and third‑party LLMs.
