Job summary

MARSS Group in Bristol is seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to own end-to-end simulation pipelines, integrating physics models into Unreal Engine 5 and NVIDIA Omniverse. You will build scalable cloud testing and HIL workflows, accelerating development cycles while validating hardware and software before flight.

The role collaborates with Robotics, Perception, Aero, and Data teams and requires expertise in C++, Python, Linux, Docker, and modern GPU-accelerated simulation techniques.

Qualifications

• Strong modern C++ and Python programming skills.
• Experience with real-time simulation engines or advanced visualization systems.
• Deep understanding of ROS 2 and DDS architectures.
• Familiarity with HPC, NVIDIA GPU acceleration, CUDA/TensorRT.
• Proficiency with Linux, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) / Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) benches.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain photorealistic virtual environments across engines like Unreal Engine 5 or NVIDIA Omniverse / Isaac Sim.
• Use NeRFs and Gaussian Splatting to create 1-to-1 digital twins of test sites.
• Simulate sensors and automate SDG pipelines with the Perception team.
• Containerize the simulation (Docker) and enable cloud deployment for headless multi-agent scenarios.
• Connect simulation to real hardware configurations (HIL) ensuring latency validation against flight controllers.
• Ingest flight dynamics physics models (FDM) into the simulation engine without compromising speed.
• Develop frontend UI tools to visualize telemetry, data replays, and debug intercept failures.
