Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for civil engineering projects in Leicester. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a salary up to £75,000, dependent on experience, and opportunities for professional development.

You will drive commercial ownership across projects, manage procurement and contracts, and work closely with project teams and clients to ensure value-driven delivery and compliant commercial management.

Qualifications

Relevant qualification in QS or commercial management.
Experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
Experience managing commercial performance from procurement through final account.
Understanding of standard forms of contract and measurement methods.
Experience preparing valuations, cost reports, forecasts and subcontractor accounts.
Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare valuations and payment applications with required documentation.
Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts and internal commercial reports.
Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts from procurement to final account.
Prepare and maintain subcontract and material procurement schedules.
Administer contracts and maintain change-management registers.
Identify commercial risks, opportunities, variations and value-engineering options.
Monitor project expenditure, cash flow and overall performance.
Review subcontractor payments and ensure proper authorisation.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
Mentor junior members of the commercial team.
