Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on highways infrastructure projects. You will own pre-contract through final account, maximise margin and manage cost risk while coordinating with estimating, operations and commercial teams.

Based in Featherstone, Wakefield, the role offers a £70,000 salary (dependent on experience), car allowance and private medical insurance, plus 25 days' annual leave and life assurance.

Qualifications

• A BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Strong QS experience in civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Understanding of estimating from first principles.
• Experience managing highways infrastructure projects is beneficial.
• Strong contract administration, cost management and reporting skills.
• Ability to build productive client and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of highways infrastructure projects from pre-contract to final account.
• Work with estimating and commercial teams to maintain margin and cash flow.
• Identify opportunities to improve project performance and value.
• Manage cost control, change events and CE/CEAR/documents.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and commercial reports with operational teams.
