Job summary

TDC Aberdeen is seeking an experienced Lead/Senior Marine Electronics Engineer to lead our Marine Electronics Division, overseeing a team of engineers and delivering service, installation and repair of radar, gyro compass, marine radio and ECDIS systems on vessels onshore and offshore. You will conduct radio surveys and VDR performance tests, ensuring compliance with international standards.

• Background in electronics/electrical engineering within the marine sector is essential.

• A full UK driving licence and a valid passport are required.
• Some weekend and out-of-hours work and travel may be required.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Service, install and repair marine navigation and communications equipment, including Radar, Gyro compass, Marine Radio and ECDIS.
• Carry out installation, repairs, maintenance, surveys and inspections on vessels both onshore and offshore.
• Undertake radio surveys and VDR performance tests.
• Ensure equipment installations meet international maritime standards.
• Guide engineers through complex fault finding and installation procedures.
• Work independently while delivering a high standard of technical expertise and customer service.

We're looking for an experienced Lead/Senior Marine Electronics Engineer to lead our team of engineers and undertake the service, installation and repair of a wide range of marine electronics systems, as well as carrying out GMDSS Radio Surveys and Voyage Data Recorder annual performance testing.

Requirements: Significant experience with marine communication and navigation systems, including radar, gyro compass, marine radio, ECDIS and VDR. A proven background in the marine sector, preferably within an electronics/electrical engineering environment, is essential. GMDSS GOC is preferred. HNC/HND or NVQ3 in Electronics is preferred. A full UK driving licence and valid passport are required. Some weekend and out-of-hours work may be required, along with occasional UK and overseas travel. Must have right to work in the UK.
