Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council seeks an Information Advice Guidance Officer to lead the SEND Advice Line, supporting schools and families to ensure the right SEND support at the right time.

You will manage a local team, coordinate requests, and lead face-to-face engagements with settings. The role sits within a countywide network, offering hybrid working and opportunities to shape inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Extensive SEND knowledge with at least five years' experience in SEND or related settings.
• Strong leadership skills and a solution-focused approach to problem solving.
• Excellent relationship-building with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Knowledge of EHCP provision and relevant legislation (SEN Code of Practice 2014, Equality Act 2010).
• Excellent organisation, ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small local team and partner with education, health and social care colleagues.
• Coordinate work requests for the local area.
• Carry out face-to-face meetings with settings.
• Chair the SEND local Triage and apply SEND expertise in decisions.
• Be a core member of the Experts at Hand Teams across the County.
• Attend panels and contribute SEND knowledge to robust decisions.
