Job summary

Co-op is seeking a Principal Security Architect to lead application and data security across our technology landscape in Manchester. You will drive secure-by-design strategies for cloud platforms, APIs, and data services while guiding governance and risk decisions.

The role spans architecture leadership, threat modelling, and collaboration with engineers to deliver resilient, scalable security outcomes. Hybrid working with strong 커mpliance focus and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cloud-native architectures and security reviews.
• Experience securing enterprise apps such as SAP, Salesforce or Dynamics.
• Knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide clear technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead application and data security architecture and set standards.
• Embed secure-by-design across apps, APIs, cloud and data services.
• Lead threat modelling and risk decisions.
• Define security patterns: devsec, access, cryptography, and API security.
• Contribute to architecture governance and regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver secure, scalable outcomes.
