Job summary

Insignis, a fast-growing FinTech company regulated by the FCA in the UK, seeks a Lead Salesforce Developer to own and evolve our Salesforce platform. You will personally design and build on Salesforce, set the technical direction, and oversee integration with Kafka-based services across core systems.

You will lead a hands-on team, establish standards, review code, and mentor engineers while ensuring UK GDPR and data protection compliance. This hybrid London-based role offers flexible remote days.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Salesforce development experience with at least 2 years in a lead capacity.
• Expert-level Apex: triggers, asynchronous processing, bulkification, and test strategy.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems using event-driven patterns (Platform Events, CDC, Kafka).
• Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP callouts, External Services, streaming API.
• Experience with Lightning Web Components and modern Salesforce front-end development.
• Source-driven development with Git, SFDX, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentoring developers and leading technical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and delivery of solutions on the Salesforce platform, with deep hands-on Apex development.
• Own the integration architecture between Salesforce and operational systems, using Platform Events, CDC and Kafka.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for the Salesforce team: code review, testing, CI/CD, deployment practices, and release governance.
• Mentor and develop other Salesforce team members, raising the overall engineering standard of the team.
• Work with product, operations and engineering leadership to translate business requirements into well-designed, maintainable platform solutions.
• Ensure solutions meet security, data protection and regulatory obligations (UK GDPR, FCA requirements).
• Manage Salesforce technical debt deliberately: governor limits, org health, unused metadata, and the config-vs-code trade-off.
• Contribute to platform lifecycle activities: release readiness for Salesforce seasonal releases, sandbox strategy, and environment management.
