Job summary

Leonardo in the UK is seeking an RF and Signal Processing Specialist to design and develop core signal processing for military aircraft systems. The role requires on-site work at the Luton site with hybrid working options and opportunities to lead technical activities.

You will engage stakeholders, define requirements, evaluate proposals, and advance capabilities for current RAF platforms and GCAP concepts while applying AI/ML methods to large surveillance data sets.

Qualifications

• Science-based honours degree or equivalent experience.
• Research experience in academia or industry.
• Strong math background for data analysis and pattern matching.
• Experience designing algorithms for embedded real-time systems.
• Knowledge of sensor fusion and electronic warfare concepts.
• Desire to deepen engineering knowledge through training and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams to define system requirements.
• Develop signal processing solutions for core kernels.
• Model systems to understand performance and trade-offs.
• Design and integrate new functionality within hardware limits.
• Mentor engineers and communicate with customers and partners.
• Conduct testing, trials and root-cause analysis of issues.
