Kindsight Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to lead shifts in a Burton‑on‑Trent children’s home supporting young people with Learning Disabilities. You will play a pivotal role in day‑to‑day care, coaching junior staff and developing care plans alongside the management team.

You’ll supervise shift operations, help create supportive, person‑centred plans, and work closely with families and social workers to ensure safe outcomes.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare / Children & Young People’s Workforce, or equivalent.
• Experience working in a children’s residential care home.
• Experience supporting children or young people with Learning Disabilities.
• Experience taking responsibility within a shift, mentoring colleagues or in a senior/supervisory capacity.
• Nurturing, patient and empathetic approach.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work a rota including sleep‑in shifts.

Responsabilités

• Lead shifts and oversee the day‑to‑day running of the home.
• Provide guidance and leadership to Residential Support Workers.
• Conduct staff supervisions.
• Support shift planning and team development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Support young people with learning disabilities to develop independence and achieve outcomes.
• Provide personal care where required (hygiene, dressing, feeding).
• Complete keyworking sessions.
• Create and review care plans and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate records and professional reports.
• Support educational, health and social needs of the young people.
• Plan and participate in activities within the home and community.
• Collaborate with families, social workers and other professionals.
