Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Lead Reliability Maintenance Technician to safeguard mechanical, electrical and instrumentation assets across our production sites. You’ll perform complex maintenance, mentor the team and bridge day-to-day work with bigger picture operations.

You will coach technicians, oversee safety, issue permits, and drive asset reliability with planning support. A background in electrical/mechanical maintenance and Maximo familiarity are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Qualified to C&G or equivalent in electrical field and BS7671 compliant.
• For Mechanical Focus: C&G or equivalent vocational level in mechanical field.
• National Water Hygiene training provided by the business.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical/electrical failures in pumps, valves and control systems.
• Ability to use electronic work management systems for logging work and interfacing with PLC/SCADA.
• Ability to report issues clearly to management and collaborate with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical or E&I planned maintenance and first-line remedial work.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to the maintenance team.
• Act as first point of escalation for technical challenges on-site.
• Issue Permits to Work, lead Confined Space Entries and ensure safety systems.
• Conduct 121 meetings, support wellbeing and training needs with Reliability Maintenance Manager.
• Review and approve timesheets, audit H&S compliance and update Maximo.
• Authorize annual leave and manage PPE and uniforms procurement.
• Communicate progress and asset reliability trends to the manager; coordinate with schedulers.
