Job summary

Stantec seeks a Principal Consultant in Regulatory Advice to lead high-impact engagements for regulated clients across the UK. You will set strategy, advise on price controls, and ensure compliance while mentoring junior staff and supporting business growth.

The role offers hybrid working from multiple UK locations, with opportunities to progress and gain professional qualifications. A strong track record in proposal writing and senior stakeholder engagement is essential.

Qualifications

• Senior regulatory experience in water/energy sectors with track record of solutions.
• Experience with price reviews and revenue-setting processes (AMP cycles).
• Familiarity with assurance standards and internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of regulation policy and strategy.
• Experience in cost modelling, benchmarking or business cases.
• Proven ability to win work through proposals and account development.
• Excellent written communication for regulator/board audiences.
• Strong senior stakeholder credibility and management.
• Proven project leadership including planning and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-impact regulatory advisory engagements.
• Provide strategic, economic, and governance advice on regulatory matters.
• Mentor and develop less experienced team members; contribute to growth.
• Support development and delivery of programmes and outputs across clients.
