Job summary

Leaders in Care is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a small 2-bed EBD children's home in Wallasey, Wirral. You will oversee daily operations, safeguarding, regulatory compliance and positive outcomes for each child.

You will lead a team, ensure high standards of care, and drive continuous improvement in partnership with social workers and families. A Level 5 Diploma or equivalent is preferred, with strong regulatory knowledge and leadership ability.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in children's residential care within the last five years.
• At least one year in supervisory or management roles within a care setting.
• Experience as Registered Manager or senior leader within a children's home.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent; applicants working towards it may be considered where regulatory timescales apply.
• Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, safeguarding procedures and Ofsted expectations.
• Experience in care planning, risk assessment, placement matching, quality assurance and service improvement.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the residential care team, ensuring high standards of care.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements.
• Maintain safeguarding, risk management and robust incident oversight.
• Ensure children's views and rights are central to all decisions.
• Oversee admissions, placements and transitions to meet each child's needs.
• Drive outcomes across education, health, relationships, independence and wellbeing.
• Manage the home budget, resources, premises and health and safety.
