Job summary

ionic Recruitment seeks an experienced Registered Manager to lead a single-occupancy children’s home in Southport, caring for one child aged 8–17 with EBD. You will oversee leadership, safeguarding, and daily operations to deliver safe, therapeutic care and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include developing care plans, managing budgets and staff rotas, and ensuring high standards of childcare. Driving licence and Level 5 Diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within required timescales).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in a supervisory or management role in residential childcare.
• Significant experience supporting children and young people with EBD and complex behaviours.
• Thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and children's residential care regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a high-performing care team.
• Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and direction to the residential care team.
• Promote a child-centred, trauma-informed approach to care.
• Ensure the young person's physical, emotional, educational, and social needs are met.
• Develop and implement high-quality care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
• Foster positive relationships with the child, their family members, social workers, schools, and external professionals.
• Lead on safeguarding matters and ensure robust protection measures are in place.
• Manage budgets, staffing rotas, recruitment, training, and performance management.
• Monitor and improve service quality through regular audits and development plans.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
