Job summary

Turning Point UK is launching a new residential rehabilitation service and seeks an experienced Lead Recovery Worker - Activities & Involvement Coordinator to shape engagement and activity programmes. You will lead on co-production, develop workshops, and promote recovery, independence, and community involvement for people with complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of the service's activities and involvement programme.
• Create and coordinate a varied programme of workshops, events, groups and activities that support recovery, wellbeing and social inclusion.
• Facilitate resident forums, meetings and co-production groups, ensuring people have a voice in service design and development.
• Promote participation, engagement and meaningful occupation across the service.
• Support people to access education, training, volunteering, employment and community opportunities.
• Encourage individuals to build confidence, independence and social connections.
• Develop partnerships with local organisations, community groups, education providers and employers.
• Identify innovative ways to increase participation and improve outcomes for the people we support.
• Monitor engagement levels, gather feedback and use learning to continuously improve activity programmes.
• Champion co-production and resident involvement across all areas of service delivery.
• Support people to identify personal goals and access opportunities that enhance their recovery journey.
• Act as a specialist resource for colleagues, supporting them to embed engagement and involvement into everyday practice.
• Lead projects and initiatives that improve wellbeing, independence and community participation.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to audits, quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring and support to Recovery Workers where appropriate.

Join us as we launch a brand-new residential rehabilitation and Discharge to Assess service supporting people with complex mental health needs to achieve greater independence and successful move-on outcomes.At Turning Point, we believe recovery is possible for everyone. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Recovery Worker - Activities & Involvement Coordinator to help shape and develop The Stewarts, an innovative residential service providing both Intensive Enablement and Discharge to Assess (D2A) pathways.As the Activities & Involvement Coordinator, you will lead on creating meaningful opportunities that promote wellbeing, participation, social inclusion and personal development. You will play a key role in ensuring the people we support have opportunities to influence the service, develop new skills, build confidence and engage in their communities.Passionate about co-production and person-centred support, you will champion resident involvement and create a vibrant programme of activities that supports recovery and independence.Please note this role is a Recovery Worker role with a percentage of time spent doing activity coordinator duties.

About the Role

As the Activities & Involvement Coordinator, you will act as the service lead for engagement, participation, co-production and activity programmes, ensuring people are actively involved in shaping both their recovery journey and the development of the service.You will create opportunities that reduce isolation, increase confidence and help people develop meaningful connections within their communities.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced and motivated practitioner who is passionate about empowering people to take an active role in their recovery. You will have:

• Experience working within mental health, social care, supported housing or community services.
• Experience coordinating activities, engagement programmes, community initiatives or group work.
• A strong understanding of recovery-focused and person-centred approaches.
• Experience promoting participation, inclusion and co-production.
• Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Experience developing partnerships with community organisations and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Confidence facilitating groups, workshops and events.
• Confidence using digital systems and maintaining accurate records.
• A commitment to equality, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
• Most importantly, you will share our values and be committed to helping people build confidence, develop meaningful connections and achieve fulfilling, independent lives.
